PM Modi launches ‘Jan Samarth’ portal for credit-related schemes

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday rolled out the Jan Samarth portal, the nationwide portal for government credit-related programs, during the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commercial Affairs’ “emblematic week celebrations” in Vigyan Bhawan on Monday.
“By reducing the compliances of over 30,000, abolishing over a thousand and a half laws, decriminalizing several provisions of the Companies Act, we have ensured that Indian companies not only grow, but achieve also new heights,” Prime Minister Modi said at the event.

Not only will this portal make life easier for students, entrepreneurs, businessmen, farmers, but also help them achieve their dreams. Students will learn which government program will benefit them the most and how they can benefit from it, the Prime Minister stressed.

This portal will act as an end-to-end delivery platform for middle-class youth. It will play a central role in freelance work.

“India has also been working on different dimensions over the past eight years. Public participation which has increased in the country during this period and they have given impetus to the development of the country,” he added.

“The Jan Samarth Portal is a unique digital portal linking government credit systems. It is a one-of-a-kind platform that directly connects beneficiaries with lenders. The main objective of the Jan Samarth Portal is to encourage growth and development of diverse sectors by guiding and providing them with the right kind of government benefits through simple and easy digital processes,” the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) said.

The portal provides end-to-end coverage of all linked plans.

What is the Jan Samarth Portal?

It is a digital portal linking thirteen credit-related government programs on a single platform. With this, recipients can digitally verify their eligibility in a few simple steps, apply online for an eligible program, and receive digital approval.

It has four loan categories and over 125 lenders on the platform.

How to apply for the scheme?

Currently, there are four loan categories – education loan, agricultural infrastructure loan, livelihood loan, business loan – and under each loan category, various programs have been listed on the portal. For your preferred loan category, you must first verify eligibility by answering a few simple questions and once you become eligible for one of the programs, you can choose to proceed with the online application to receive approval. digital.

Anyone can apply for the loan after checking the preferred loan eligibility.
